In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a div that can display scrollable content using Dreamweaver CS3.

Sometimes you want to put a lot of content in a small amount of space. This is where divs with scrollable content come in handy. Using CSS, you can create a style that allows for scrolling. You can then set if you want there to always be a scroll bar or only if the content overflows. These divs are especially helpful when working with user generated content. You never know how much someone will want to add and you donít want the webpage to be a mile long. Scrollable divs in Dreamweaver helps you to contain that content.

CSS
<!--
.scrollbar {
height: 500px;
width: 600px;
overflow: auto;
background-color: #000000;
color: #FFFFFF;
}
--><!--
.scrollbar {
height: 500px;
width: 600px;
overflow: auto;
background-color: #000000;
color: #FFFFFF;
}
-->

HTML
<div class="scrollbar">Check it out! It Scrolls! Check it out! It Scrolls!Check it out! It Scrolls!</div>
