In this tutorial, you will learn how to add meta tags Dreamweaver CS5 that will allow your web pages to be better found by search engines.

Search engine traffic and SEO (search engine optimization) will usually make or break a website. It doesn’t matter how good your content is if no one is seeing it.

Meta data is one of the simplest things a web developer can add to allow their content to be indexed. Google and other search engines do not release how much of a factor these play in their algorithms, but it seems to be very important.

Also, meta data also shows up to users in search engine results. The title and some of the description show up with results so it is important to make sure they explain your content and will make your result stand apart from someone else’s.

When key wording/tagging your content make sure to include any kind of relevant words you can think of. Often, the obscure or longer keywords are less competitive and will drive more traffic to your site than shorter, more obvious ones.

If you are going to take the time to create great content, make sure you are taking the time to allow it to be found.
