 \' Help ! \' Image Re-Size
 by mooapo - Oct 30, 2011

I was watching the Photoshop Tutorial on ' How To Create A Facebook Icon '. I noticed that the height and width of the Object in the Tutorial is 235px in height and 235px in width. So lets say we did this Tutorial and it looks good and you want to save it to a PSD, but you want the Object saved to be 40px in height and 40px in width. How would one go about making that happen?

Would one do the Tutorial in 40px height and width?

Or would we do ti in the 235px height and width then resize it?

I can see how doing it in 235px height and with is better for design becaue of size, you won't have to zoom in and out allot. But I really don't need want it that large when I save it.

Thank you

You could really do it either way. I would recommend making it bigger and scaling it down. Bigger objects are easier to work with because they have more pixels. Also, if you decide you want a bigger version later you will already have it made.

To size it down I would grab the move tool and check the "show transform controls" icon in the top options bar. Then shift select all of the layers of the icon and you should be able to scale it down with the handles. Click one of the handles to go into transform where you should see precise measurements in the options bar. Under height and width you can right click the percent and change it to pixels. With the little chain icon clicked you can type in 40 and it should make the other value 40 as well.
